How to Know if the Peak Seasons Plan is for You

Learn What Pests Are Included in the Plan and Some FAQs About the Plan

Early summer of 2020, I had carpenter ants in the house I rented in Saint Paul. There were only a couple visible that I could see, but I’m sure there were more. My landlord set some bait to see how many would come to it, and thankfully the answer was: not that many.

Early fall this same year, I had some bottle flies come into the house. I think they were coming in through the laundry vent. Flies always give me the heebee jeebees because they carry bacteria and diseases everywhere they go. Plus, my roommate had a dog, which means those flies had probably landed in some dog feces in the yard before coming inside. Yikes!

Once we figured out where they were coming in at, we could ensure no more came in. Then we killed the flies that were already inside.

Thankfully these pest instances were not severe and did not require a professional to look at the situations. However, I would have felt more at ease if my roommate had pest coverage, like with the Peak Seasons Plan, for specifically the carpenter ants because they can really be a nuisance!

    • Then, if anything comes up in between that treatment and the next season’s treatment, let us know!

2. Spring treatment – interior and exterior – spring pest control

    • The spring treatment consists of interior treatment. All bugs try to hibernate in houses and other warm structures.
    • We also treat the entire exterior of the home, from foundation to soffits. This full treatment provides a barrier for your entire home from any spring pest activity too!
    • Our technicians use their web pole to remove any past pest activity like spider webs and wasp nests.
    • Finally, we also check the foundation to make sure no new entry points for mice formed over the winter.

3. Summer treatment – exterior only – summer pest control

    • The summer treatment is a simple treatment. The main pests of summer are crawling pests such as carpenter ants. We treat the exterior foundation about 3 feet up and 3 feet out.
    • If you have any interior concerns, we will check them out! Typically, interior treatment is not needed in the summer season.
    • If there are any signs of stinging insect activity up by the soffits and facia we may spray there preventatively.
    • Again, our technicians remove any spider webs and wasp nests that may have formed.

4. Fall treatment – interior and exterior – fall pest control

    • A close-up photo of boxelder bugs, common invasive pests during the fall season. The fall treatment includes another full exterior spray of the house, from foundation to soffits. This full treatment is necessary for the intense fall invading insects that may try to over-winter inside your home.
    • We also treat the interior preventatively for mice and insects, gearing up for winter.
    • Our technicians remove any spider webs and wasp nests one last time before winter.
    • And we do a thorough check of the foundation, closing any entry points that have not been sealed.

5. Winter – as needed – winter pest control

    • There is no scheduled visit for a winter treatment.
    • Let us know if any issues come up.

    • Because of this, we don’t charge extra for roaches for our Peak Seasons clients.
  • Are interior treatments necessary?
  • Are exterior treatments necessary?
    • Yes. The exterior treatments have the direct kill effect when wet and the residual chemical when dry. The products are applied as preventatives so bugs don’t enter your home.
    • Treatments are effective in ornamental landscaping.
  • Are your products pet/child friendly?
    • Our products are EPA and FDA certified approved for pets and children. However, we recommend keeping kids and pets away from any treated area for about an hour, to ensure the product is dry.
    • Once dry, our products are undetectable to sight and touch and do not create a transfer hazard to fingers, toes, and paws.
    • Treatments are not applied to edible gardens.
  • How long does it take your products to dry?
    • About 1 hour.
    • Exterior sprays may be less (30-45 minutes) if the weather conditions are perfect drying conditions (warm/hot with a breeze).
  • Are your products pollinator friendly?
    • Our liquid products are designed to kill insect pests. We treat for stinging insects that can be hazardous to your health or affect your ability to enjoy your property.
    • That said, our technicians will not treat a certain distance in proximity to pollinator gardens so as to not disrupt any honey bee and other bee populations.
    • Our products will kill insects that come into contact with it, so we strive to keep pollinating insects, such as honey bees, away from our products.
