Care for Our World

Using innovative techniques and products with the lowest risk to compromising the environment, we vow to be cautious and use alternative methods when applicable to eliminate pests, but still care for our world.

Protect Health & Happiness

Pests carry illness and disease causing bacteria and pathogens. Pest control technicians eliminate the risk of adverse conditions in your home, yard, and community.

Make a difference

The field of pest control and pest management offers a lot of variety to incoming technicians. Every day you are able to learn something new and grow your skills. Whether you are starting with zero pest control experience or have a few years of experience at other companies, Done Right Pest Solutions offers a tailored-to-you training program. Every training session is unique to the new employee’s needs, and is hands-on work with one of our master or expert technicians.

The training schedule typically looks like one of our master or expert technicians picking you up and dropping you off at home so you can simply focus on learning the jobs, not having to drive from stop to stop on the day’s route. This is phase 1 and is critical for close working relationships with the master and expert technicians.

You will learn on-the-job training of each type of pest control and each aspect of each job, from identification to treatment to follow-up. You will be instructed on products and chemicals, equipment and protocols. And, over time, you will be able to perform jobs with and under the careful eye of our master and expert technicians.

You will be issued a company vehicle and will continue training with master or expert technicians and will either take your licensing exam during this time or if you’re already licensed you may be given some jobs here and there to test your knowledge and skills so far. This is phase 2. During this time, any jobs you have performed will be checked in on and followed-up by one of our master technicians to further test your knowledge and skills.

Finally, once training is complete and all jobs checked into have been performed satisfactorily, you will begin to have your own daily route, though still under a probationary period. This is phase 3, and it will test your time management and responsibility with the position as a whole. After a few weeks to months of this phase, a review is scheduled. At which the master techs will go over their Technician Quality Inspections with you, and as long as the jobs are performed satisfactorily or excellently, you will pass out of our probationary period. At this time a wage increase is given.

This process as a whole has worked well for our company so far, but is time-consuming. Each new employee should expect anywhere from 3-9 months of this, depending on whether you have a few years of experience or no experience. And as mentioned before, there is no set-in-stone timeframe for which these phase transitions take place, but rather is fluid and based on each training employee’s needs.

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture requires all Structural Pest Control Applicators to have a state licensure of a Core/Journeyman license. This license is issued after the passing of two tests: the chemical and laws side of things and the pest identification side of things. A lot of the information you will need to pass the licensing exams will be acquired on the job, but we can issue study materials for you to study in the evenings, after trainings. Upon passing the Core/Journeyman licensure, Done Right Pest Solutions requires all technicians to acquire a reciprocal licensure in Wisconsin, which does not require another test.

Done Right Pest Solutions covers the fees for the licensing exams and any retakes. There are additional testing and licensing opportunities, such as Mosquito and Black Fly licensure and vertebrate licensure, which are both available to test in Wisconsin as well. We also cover the fees for these additional licensures, should you wish to expand your knowledge and abilities. A small stipend is given upon passing each license.

After 2 years of having your Core/Journeyman licensure, you may test for your Master license. Done Right Pest Solutions would cover this fee in the future, should you choose to expand your knowledge and abilities. A small stipend is given upon passing this license as well.

If you like working with your hands, learning license and chemistry, and helping people, a career as a pest control technician may be for you. And, if you like going above and beyond and take pride in your work, a career as a pest control technician at Done Right Pest Solutions may be for you!

Done Right Pest Solutions Company Benefits

Since we are a smaller pest control company, we may not be the right fit for you. We do not offer health insurance at this time, so if that is a dealbreaker, we understand. But we do offer a lot of benefits for you to consider.

Read on to learn more of what we require, what is optional, what we offer, and a quick test to determine if you’d make a good pest control tech.

What We Require

It is of utmost importance to be completely aware of your surroundings and of sound mind while applying chemical products. We take health very seriously.

As competent stewards of the public’s trust, it is important to maintain trust and kindness when entering others’ homes and businesses.

Part-time techs do not drive a company vehicle, but full-time techs have the added responsibility of driving a company vehicle. A current driver’s license is required and past driving records may be discussed.

At the end of the day we serve others. This needs to be at the forefront of our minds and customer service at the beginning, middle, and end of every service.

Optional

While it is nice to have some pest control experience, we do not require it. Done Right Pest Solutions prides itself on thinking outside of the box and providing alternative pest control means at times to solve pest issues at the source, not just maintain them or mask them.

As a result, we offer on-the-job training to gain the experience and skill needed to be able to solve pest issues on your own some day.

So if you are looking for a career change, Done Right Pest Solutions may be a great fit for you!

What We Offer

Training and experience is foundational in pest control. We offer on-the-job training, working closely with our senior techs to gain experience.

At a part-time or full-time training capacity, pay is increased upon licensure. Four licensures are structural pest control applicator/commercial pest control applicator, mosquito and tick applicator, and vertebrate pest control applicator, and fumigation applicator (the last one isn’t required).

Full-time technicians enjoy the responsibility of driving and caring for a company vehicle during work hours.

With seasonal work, there are slower seasons that offer a more flexible schedule, and there are busier seasons that demand a higher work load. They even out in the end.

Retirement is something most look forward to, but aren’t always prepared for. We offer 401k matching options.

Continuing from the point above, we offer connections with professionals who ensure your retirement and investments are handled, a proven tactic to combat inflation and uncertainty.

With any job that requires driving and other health risks over time, as really anything in life holds, we offer opportunities to cover yourself for all uncertainties in life. All full-time staff currently have these supplemental, alternative health insurance coverages.

The Honor of the Job

The pest control services that we perform are not for the faint of heart. It takes special people to join our team, because we treat so many apartment complexes. It can be a lot of repetition, there can be a lot of crazy stuff and it can be intimidating for sure. But it is so satisfying to help someone out by relieving all of their pest issues and concerns. It takes a lot of stress out of their lives, as pests can certainly be anxiety-inducing.

It is also wonderful to create working relationships with property managers, maintenance staff, and tenants at routine appointments. Take for example a 400-unit building. If a technician was there weekly, the tech would quickly get to know the staff, and then slowly build up a good rapport with tenants. Sometimes tenants will stop our technicians in the halls to ask for pest control, rather than call their property manager.

We love treating apartments and homes for invasive insects and rodents, because at the end of the day your home is your safe space. We want you to feel at home, safe, and at peace in your own home, and pests steal that peace of mind and safety. This is what we at Done Right Pest Solutions consider the honor of the job.
